Finance for Non-Financial managers.
Getting all managers on board.

THE DETAILS

This 2 day workshop takes the lid off finance and accounting and enables the user to see - often for the first time - what's going on in the business - and what he/she should do as a consequence. The programme has been split over two weeks to enable participants to apply their learnings from day 1 before returning for the second day of the programme.

The questions we will address on the workshop include:

  • Why do profitable companies often fail - and how can this be avoided?
  • How does the selling price etc get decided?
  • What actually constitutes "cost"?
  • How and why do you budget?
  • What financial ratios are really important?
  • Why do transactions end up in either the income statement or the balance sheet?
  • Why are there different ways of accounting for similar things?
  • Why does it matter when and how information is reported?
  • Why do accountants speak a different language?
  • What is classification?
  • What constitutes notes and accounting policies and why are they important?

These are just a few of the questions that typically exist in the minds of non-financially literate people. This workshop goes a long way to dispersing the myths, creating understanding and insights - and will enable you to be a better, more effective manager. As a result you will be able to participate more effectively in the financial decision making of your business.
